Admissions 101: How to Enroll Your Child at Granada School for the 2027 Intake

hero-2

Choosing a school for your child is one of the biggest decisions you'll make as a parent. Once you've decided Granada School is the right fit, you shouldn't have to untangle a maze of forms and phone calls to make it happen. Here's everything you need to know to apply for the 2027 intake, from age requirements to what happens after you submit your application.

Note: Applications can be done online or in person at the school campus in Vipingo.

1. Which Section Is Your Child Applying To?

Granada School is organized into 2 sections, each following the Competency Based Education (CBE) curriculum:
Junior School (Grades 7–9): Ages 13–16
Senior School (Grades 10–12): Ages 16–19

Boarding is available from Junior School (Grade 7) through Senior School (Grade 12), for families who live further afield or prefer a residential option.

2. The Application Process, Step by Step

Applying to Granada follows five straightforward stages:

Step 1 — Enquire
Reach out to the admissions team by phone, email, or the enquiry form on our website. This is a good time to ask about availability in your child's grade, arrange a campus tour, and get a feel for whether Granada School is the right fit.

Step 2 — Submit Your Application
Complete the admissions form with your child's details and your contact information as parent/guardian. You'll share supporting documents online or on campus. The supporting documents include:

  • Child's birth certificate (original + copy)
  • Recent passport-size photos of the child
  • Copy of parent/guardian national ID or passport
  • Academic reports/transcripts from the current or previous school (for transfers)
  • Transfer letter or leaving certificate from the previous school (if applicable)

Step 3 — Application Review
Our admissions team reviews every submission. You'll receive a confirmation once it's received, and an update once it moves to review.

Step 4 — Assessment / Interview
Shortlisted applicants are invited for an age-appropriate assessment and, for most grades, a short interview with the child and parents. This isn't meant to be intimidating. It helps us understand your child's learning level and place them appropriately.

Step 5 — Offer & Enrollment
Successful applicants receive an official offer letter. To secure the place, you'll confirm acceptance, pay the applicable admission/enrollment fee, and complete final registration paperwork before the term begins.

3. What to Expect During the Assessment

For Junior and Senior School applicants, expect a short written assessment in core areas (typically English, Math, and general reasoning) plus a brief interview. The goal is to helps us tailor support from day one.

Parents are usually asked to join for part of the visit too, so come with questions about academics, co-curricular activities, and, if relevant, boarding life.
